{"id":1597,"date":"2021-02-04T21:33:26","date_gmt":"2021-02-04T21:33:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blinkee.com\/blinkeeblog\/?p=1597"},"modified":"2021-02-04T21:33:27","modified_gmt":"2021-02-04T21:33:27","slug":"hallelujah-bitcoin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blinkee.com\/blinkeeblog\/2021\/02\/04\/hallelujah-bitcoin\/","title":{"rendered":"Hallelujah Bitcoin"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blinkee.com\/product\/gold-plated-collectible-bitcoin-coin-physical-art-collection-gift\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/n5a6z4p9.stackpathcdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Front-Gold-Collection-Bitcoin.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hallelujah Bitcoin!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>My wife and I bought a <a href=\"https:\/\/blinkee.com\/product\/gold-plated-collectible-bitcoin-coin-physical-art-collection-gift\/\">bitcoin <\/a>last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hallelujah!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s working out pretty well so far, and I&#8217;m convinced it was one of the best investments of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Big Boys coming Aboard<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While Bitcoin has always been a very serious endeavor, in the beginning only enthusiasts and hobbyists participated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then leading up to the boom and bust of 2017, many retail investors got involved and bought heavily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, we see the adoption of bitcoin burgeoning in two important ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Many financial companies and payment processors have begun selling bitcoin.<\/li><li>Some corporations are turning to bitcoin as a reserve asset in place of cash or gold.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B07FY5R77T\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;creativeASIN=B07FY5R77T&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;tag=blinkee-20&#038;linkId=477eeca670ac366ada0870b8aef90749\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/\/ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/widgets\/q?_encoding=UTF8&#038;MarketPlace=US&#038;ASIN=B07FY5R77T&#038;ServiceVersion=20070822&#038;ID=AsinImage&#038;WS=1&#038;Format=_SL250_&#038;tag=blinkee-20\" ><\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=blinkee-20&#038;l=am2&#038;o=1&#038;a=B07FY5R77T\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Cash App, owned by Square, Inc.  (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cash_App#:~:text=Square%2C%20Inc.&amp;text=Cash%20App%20(formerly%20known%20as,using%20a%20mobile%20phone%20app.\" target=\"_blank\">Cash App, owned by Square, Inc. <\/a> now offers the ability to buy or send bitcoin. This is a very popular app and it is helping bitcoin go mainstream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PayPal now sells bitcoin too.  PayPal currently has\u00a0<strong>286 million<\/strong>\u00a0active users. If it were a bank, PayPal would be the 21st largest bank in the US. This has contributed to the TENFOLD rise in bitcoin price over the past year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course Coinbase is the pioneer of <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3rnYbOo\">cryptocurrencies <\/a>sales and is the largest crypto exchange<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B08VBQK55Z\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;creativeASIN=B08VBQK55Z&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;tag=blinkee-20&#038;linkId=91eaf7afa3b5dc240f75bec9574bfb8d\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/\/ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/widgets\/q?_encoding=UTF8&#038;MarketPlace=US&#038;ASIN=B08VBQK55Z&#038;ServiceVersion=20070822&#038;ID=AsinImage&#038;WS=1&#038;Format=_SL250_&#038;tag=blinkee-20\" ><\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=blinkee-20&#038;l=am2&#038;o=1&#038;a=B08VBQK55Z\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/>\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instituionalized<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a new movement in which large corporations are purchasing bitcoin as an addition to their balance sheets. Some corporations are preferring to invest in bitcoin rather than keep all their assets in cash, gold or equities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Microstrategy ( <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"MSTR  (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/MSTR\/\" target=\"_blank\">MSTR <\/a>)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>As of February 2, 2021 Microstrategy, Inc. held  71,079 bitcoin, purchased at an average price of $16,109. At the time of this writing, bitcoin traded at about $38,000 each, so Microstrategy has more than doubled their bitcoin holding from $1,145,011,611 to about $2,701,002,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, Michael Sayler, Microstrategy&#8217;s CEO has become somewhat of a bitcoin evangelist. He has disclosed that he owns  17,732 BTC which he bought at $9,882 each on average. He regularly tweets the virtues of bitcoin to his large following and often encourages Elon Musk and other prominent business figures to get on board the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3tsLQuo\">bitcoin <\/a>train.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Microstrategy even hosted a bitcoin event called <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"World.now (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.microstrategy.com\/en\/resources\/events\/world-2021\/bitcoin-summit\" target=\"_blank\">World.now<\/a> where they have &#8220;opened up their bitcoin playbook&#8221; to other companies.
